Photos: Matt & Amanda's Wedding

We were in Georgia last weekend for Farilla's brother's beach side wedding on Tybee Island.    The ceremony was mid afternoon but the celebration/after party went well into the wee hours of the morning!  It was an absolutely spectacular day!  And the best part....Karaoke Reception!  No, I didn't sing.  No big surprise there (I'm tone deaf...seriously!).  But I was completely blown away by the incredibly talented guests who did brave the mic.  SUCH a talented bunch!  Wow!

Congrats, again, to Matt & Amanda!  May your lives always be filled with love and beautiful music!

Below are a few snaps from our weekend in Tybee and Savannah.  For the full set of photos click here.

We spent a few hours in Savannah with Matt & Amanda before boarding our flight home.  While I have traveled to the East Coast numerous times this was my first trip to the South (apparently Florida doesn't count as the south).  The Riverfront was a treat!  We enjoyed adult-slushies from Wet Willie's and the settled in for Matt's birthday lunch at Rocks On The River (highly recommend!) where I got my first southern Sweet Tea!

Again, you can view the complete slideshow of our weekend here.  Enjoy!

We popped into Social for an early dinner and drinks. The veggie taco (with a flatbread style shell) was by far the best thing we've eaten on the Island thus far. The pesto dressing was a nice touch. Farilla opted for the salad version of the same dish and now looks forward to recreating this meal at home. We could not get enough sangria. Red for Farilla. White for me. The rustic decor was nice (see the insulator chandelier in the previous post) but I'm definitely not so crazy about all of the taxidermy. And I'm glad they had the fans cranking. It's pretty humid here, yo!

Wedding: Our Jewelry Designer...

Wedding: Our Jewelry Designer...

Due to the unique shape of my antique engagement ring we've decided to get a custom made wedding band. In this photo our jeweler's designer is hand carving wax into the shape of my ring so the band can be made to fit right up against. I had no idea what a labor intensive process this would be. Best part...it's going to cost half as much as the 'designer' band we found with the closest fit.

Shown above: Total Meltdown - Gioia Scarmoza, roasted cherry tomatoes and green garlic with crusty white bread. $9.75

This sandwich was good but not great. I thought it would be a little more flavorful with all of that fancy cheese and green garlic. I definitely prefer the less expensive Grilled White Cheddar (with Hall of Fame status) with roasted cherry tomatoes (@$7.25) over the Meltdown.
