Girl 1: What do you think about this?
Girl 2: It looks like a Mom Dress.
Girl 1: Yeah, but that's coming back into style.

Photography: Holiday Beach Family Shoot
L & B are two of my oldest LA friends. I've shot a handful of their holiday cards over the years. It was extra special when they asked me to photograph them this year because this is our first shoot with their precious little bundle of joy! These guys are such troopers. You'd never know it from these photos but the elements (wind & freezing temps) were definitely working against us that afternoon. But seriously, can a family get any more beautiful?!

Life: Christmas Status...

Shutterillaville Christmas 2009
So far...
...no Chritmas lights up on the house.
...no Christmas tree.
...no Christmas decor in the house. (The photo above is from last year.)
...no baked Holiday goodies.
But...
...all gifts have been purchased and wrapped.
...some of our Christmas cards have gone out.
That counts for something, right?!
Why does it feel so hard this year? Too many other things on my plate right now, I suppose.
Bah Humbug.
LIfe: My First Disney Concert Hall Experience

The Bots invited us to see the LA Philharmonic at Disney Concert Hall last week. Sadly, Mr. Bot was called away on biz so he wasn't able to join us after all. However, his seat was filled by one very lovely Evil Bunnie who was kind enough to remind us that it's not customary to clap between movements (which I totally would have done). Throughout the evening Mrs. Bot, our classical music historian, shared fascinating tidbits of info on Haydn, Mozart and Cherubini. Then at intermission Farilla treated us all to Champagne where we (very appropriately) toasted to Framily! Our evening was as glorious and festive as all get out! 'Tis the season!

Life: Okay, Seriously....
My folks came into town back in October for Lil L's birthday. They stopped by the house just long enough to drop off SEVEN FILE BOXES of my childhood stuff they still had sitting up in their attic.

I'm just posting this photo so that you're not caught completely off guard when you get a trophy with our holiday card this year. BECAUSE WHAT ELSE AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THESE?!

Art: GR2 Post It Show 6
Last Friday was the opening for Giant Robot's 6th Annual Post-It Show. GR2 (as the gallery is known) currently houses hundreds of the most affordable original pieces of art in town! Numerous artist (including Gary Baseman, Tim Biskup, Kozyndan, Travis Lampe, Ana Bagayan & Bob Dob) contributed over 1500 post-its to this collection...most of which are priced at only $20.

I missed the opening (which I heard was a crazy-packed) but managed to stop into GR2 last night before closing. I had the place to myself as I methodically perused each and every remaining Post-It.
Here's what I picked up...

There's a good chance I'll be back for more. And don't forget that these very affordable little gems would make fantastic holiday gifts for your favorite art collector.
