Art: Farilla's Valentines....

Finding rad stuff on Etsy.com is not only fun but rewarding.  It's like this niche society of artists and crafters WHO TOTALLY GET ME.  Hence, the following Valentine's Day cards I gifted Farilla.

Farilla's Valentine #1
I F'ing Love You Greeting Card
by sweetperversion

3-D Love:
Farilla's Valentine #2
Anniversary - 3D Glasses
by witandwhistle

The inside of this card was extra awesome with the blue and red grid.  Write you message in black ink and (with your 3-D spectacles in place) said message appears to hover in space!  Mathmagical!

Art: Star Stuff by Shutterilla

Farilla and I made these last night in our Date-Night Screen Printing Workshop @ Urban Craft Center.  The canvases turned out to be a little more challenging than expected because they have so much give in the (hollow) center.  However, we're really pleased with the prints we pulled.

Life: Shutterilla - Year Two!

Shutterilla Love

10 Burns ago we met for the first time in Homeslice.  For the following 8 years our paths would casually cross at community-based events.

Two years ago today the stars aligned and you asked me out on a date.  My life instantly changed for the better.

10 days ago while participating in our 2nd Burn together (my 11th, your 9th) you held me close.  We were out at the Temple surrounded by friends.  The sun was peaking over the Black Rock Ridge.  You professed your love for me....for US!  And before I knew it you were on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring I've ever seen,  asking me to be your wife.

YES was (and will always be) the only answer.

Happy Anniversary, My Love!  You've made me the happiest woman in the solar system.  Life these past two years has been filled with laughter, love, support, commitment, community, creativity and adventure.  I've never known love like this.  You are my dream come true.

You are my one.

Posts have been light. Thanks for hanging in there. Condensing 2.5 households into one is no joke. I'm getting by right now on the sheer fact that we'll have our first Christmas Tree together up SOON! Stay tuned....

Photos: Yosemite 10/2009

A couple of months ago, on our 1 year anniversary, Farilla gifted me a weekend adventure of my choosing. After witnessing the absolute bliss he experienced during our recent day-trip to Yosemite I wanted to get him back up there for an extended visit...STAT! Without hesitation Farilla booked us a heated tent cabin in Curry Village. I was a little concerned about staying in the tent cabins during the mid-October Brrr. Luckily the heater kept us toasty at night. The cabins were comfortable but they are situated pretty close to one another so there isn't much privacy (picture wood platform/framing lined by heavy canvas walls). After waking up the first night to the sound of a bear attempting to break into our neighbors bear box I was left listening to a snoring neighbor, hmph. Needless to say, it took a while before I was able to drift back off to slumberland. Fortunately, the following evenings were more restful. That said, we had a great trip. Saw tons of wild life...including a black bear! We ventured off the valley floor and took a side trip up Tioga Road to Toulumne Meadows. Two words, CRAZY-beautiful. Wow! On our last day, we stopped off at Glacier Point to admire the amazing view and to check out the location where Tim and Tessa will exchange wedding vows next summer. Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you, Mother Nature. How blessed are we?! We wrapped up our adventure with a stop in at Mariposa Grove to peep the Giant Sequoias. Double Wow! If I had to pick, my favorite part of our vacation would be the short but steep hike near Toulumne Meadows back in to Dog Lake. Lunching on that pristine lake with no one around except for the flock of geese that flew overhead was SERIOUSLY amazing! Picturesque, if you will.

Photos: Burning Man 2009 - Evolution

10th Burn = BEST BURN EVER! I know I say that every year but it's so true. Each year just gets better and better. Introducing Farilla to the world of Greeting was such a treat...he's a natural! Shutterillaville was, without a doubt, the most comfortable home I've ever had on the Playa. This might explain the abundance of sleep we got this year. Note, the missing pics of the Burn...no, we didn't miss Burn Night altogether but thank goodness for those fireworks otherwise we may not have woken up in time. That said, this year marks the second time I've watched the Burn from the Tower. The art was stellar, our community was supportive, the weather played nice and the winds were tolerable. What more can I ask for? Below are a few of my favorite shots...for all 300+ pics from our evolutionary Playa adventure click here.

Joshua Tree :: 10/2008

365 days ago today my life changed for the better....a spark ignited fueled by endless possibilities. It amazes me how quickly this year has gone by. I cherish every moment Farilla and I have shared together nonetheless.

Today, on our one year anniversary, we celebrate "Us"! We'll celebrate the endless laughter and happiness which often brings me to tears, the commitment we've made to one another, the trust that bonds us together, our friendship which blossomed eight years ago last week and the love that fuels our inner fire.

Thank you, My Love, for your partnership. Wow...what a team we make! You completely blow my mind with the level of commitment you have to Us. There is no doubt that we'll continue to accomplish the many goals and dreams we've set together.

You are my one.

Burning Man 2009: Shutterillaville In Homeslice

Adi, a longtime friend and fellow Slicer just ran across this lovely photo of Shutterillaville (aka The Hut) taken by our BRC neighbor ninjaonmoss. As you can probably tell this was shot pre-event opening. Farilla and I went out early again this year with Ops and Otter to work with Greeters. I love getting into the city early and watching it grow. We heard the population was only around 43,000 this year. Down from about 53,000 in 2008. Going out before the event opens allows you to meet so many more people which in-turn makes the city not seem so large. I really enjoyed riding around during burn week and bumping into people we'd met/greeted during the early days. For a larger view of this image click here.

Photos: Ojai, Oh!

Farilla's been itching to get up into the mountains. Fresh air, pine trees, lakes, trails...you get the heavenly picture! We were planning on heading to Big Bear last weekend until we saw the forecast. Unfortunately this California girl doesn't do well in temps below 65 degrees. Thankfully, Farilla wasn't down with the 40/50 degree temps up there either. So, plans changed and we went to Ojai. Yay, for spontaneity! The weather was amazing. The valley and rolling hills were absolutely gorgeous! And my GPS was loaded with caches.
