Life: Tastes Just Like Chicken!

This is The Mon. The bump inside that square is three staples.  Apparently another Monster mistook her for a turkey and went in for a little nibble. Easy mistake, I suppose...she is a bird-dog afterall.

Art: Hand Stitched Note Cards

I recently started hand stitching my own note cards. I did some cross stitching when I was quite a bit younger but aside from that I have no real experience with this sort of thing...hence the simplicity of the designs.

If you're interested these are pretty easy to make. First I sketched out the design then copied it onto the card with some transfer paper. I'm pretty certain that the type of stitch I use is called a back stitch (or a variation thereof). I essentially used the trial and error method which has lead me to fairly successful results, thus far.

And just because I love her so much, here's a shot of what the Monster was doing while I was making Ops' card last weekend. Clearly she's all monster'd out.

Life: Should I Be Offended?

Monster-licious
I've been Monster-sitting for the past couple of days at the Red House and the neighbors have added yet another barker to their collection.  Mind you, the last time these folks tried to adopt another Chihuahua the agency came into the home to make sure it was an appropriate place for Yo Quiero #2 to reside.  They were ultimately denied their adoption request stating that one of the dogs currently living in the household was too aggressive.  How the agency reps were able to come to this conclusion still remains a mystery but I applaud them for recognizing a potentially bad situation.  Not only has their Biter attacked The Mon (on two separate occasions) but she also attacked her own (much smaller) brother which resulted in a bunch of stitches all over his head and face.

But I digress, a couple of weeks ago as I was leaving the Red House New Pup ran in my direction.  The neighbor began calling his name to get him to come back.  "Obie, Obie, Come Obie....OBAMA COME!"  I couldn't believe what I was hearing!  These uber-conservative Fox-news watching REPUBLICANS named their new black Chihuahua pup Obama!?  Am I right to be completely offended or am I just being overly sensitive because I don't get along with these folks?

Either way I consider myself fortunate since I'm not forced to listen to them calling this dog's name two hundred times a day on a regular basis...these past few days have been bad enough.

Friends: HAPPY B-DAY KHEDDARZ!!!

(The Homeslice Tower - 8/2007)

Yep, it's G's Birfday today!  w00t!!!

Happy 49th twirl around the most glorious Star in our solar system, Old Man!!!  It's been requested, by The Man Himself, that I DO NOT use his likeness on my blog (Boy, fame REALLY does go to some people's heads!) so instead I've chosen to let the 8th Wonder of the World (The Tower) as well the First Wonder in G's World (The Monster) reprezent!  It, seriously, seems like yesterday that you were turning 40 years young...where does the time go?!

Can't wait until tonight to get my drink on with you, my friend!  And I can't wait to see the look on your face when you open the gift (link to follow) I found to commemorate such a momentous occasion!

Mad Love!
Yer Biggest Fan...(next to The Monster, of course!)

Photos: Vida @ The Red House 3/2008

There she is, The Monster, in all of her beautiful glory!  I've been Vida-sitting the past few days and was able to take some time on Saturday to kick it with the Mon in the backyard of the Red House. Lovely day....

Click here to see a few more shots from the afternoon The Mon and I spent frolicking in the grass.  Good stuff, for sure...I miss her!
