Running: Weds & Fri
I had a really great run this AM. I pushed myself to get through this workout as quickly as possible because I needed to get back to walk Not-Monster, make green smoothies and pack up lunch for Farilla. As I sit here typing this post I'm feeling completely zen'd out...definitely the sign of a good morning workout!

Mine: New Playa Stompers!
Art: Invader Blowing My Mind Again!
Incredible! Speaking of, while driving through Westwood Village last week I noticed an Invader. I'm fairly certain that it's new! This marks my first Westside Invader sighting. Until now I've only ever seen his work displayed on the Eastside. I hope to snap a pic soon. Anyone know if he was in LA recently?

Boy am I scarred! After having two Weims who were super unpredictable on leash I found myself dreading doggie encounters during our walk this AM. Turns out Not-Monster is totally submissive so all the other monsters loved her. But then again, who wouldn't love that face!

Art: My New Art Wall
Art: My New Art Wall
Originally uploaded by Sanctuary-Studio
I collect art. In fact I've collected so much art over the years that I now have stacks and tubes filled with unframed prints stashed all over the place. While consolidating my art stacks, a couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to get some more prints up on the walls. Above is my most recent display. Rather than framing I saved some money by using magnetic (stainless steel) strips and mighty magnets. I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
About the art...
Yes by Andrea Heimer
Boundless by Linzie Hunter
Hand by Unknown ( I picked this one up at the Felt Club last year. Unfortunately, I can't read the artist's signature.)

Art: Deadline - Pots It Note Stop Motion
From Bang-yao Liu...
This is my senior project at Savannah College of Art and Design. Where my idea comes from is that every time when I am busy, I feel that I am not fighting with my works, I am fighting with those post-it notes and deadline. I manipulating the post-it notes to do pixel-like stop motion and there are some interactions between real actor and post-its.The making of Deadline...

Life: This Weeks CSA Box!
Originally uploaded by Sanctuary-Studio
Actually, this is only half of what came in the box this week (minus the beets). Lots of squash! Internet, what in the world is that white thing? Can anyone name that squash?
Running: It's Been A While...
...a month to be exact. I've been a little (and at times a lot) under the weather over last few weeks. Allergies turned head cold turned major sinus infection = no fun. This week has been great so I wanted to get right back into my training. Silly me to think I could pick up where I left off. My bruised ribs only made me that much more uncomfortable. I stopped at 3 miles which was about 2.5 miles more than my body would have liked. Of course I'm glad I did it....after the fact.

Oh my...no pressure there, eh?! Anyway, for those of you who couldn't join us this year...enjoy the photos. It's never too early to start planning for next year.

Words: We Have Come To Be Danced
We have come to be dancedNot the pretty danceNot the pretty pretty, pick me, pick me danceBut the claw our way back into the bellyOf the sacred, sensual animal danceThe unhinged, unplugged, cat is out of its box danceThe holding the precious moment in the palmsOf our hands and feet dance. We have come to be dancedNot the jiffy booby, shake your booty for him danceBut the wring the sadness from our skin danceThe blow the chip off our shoulder dance. The slap the apology from our posture dance. We have come to be dancedNot the monkey see, monkey do danceOne two dance like youOne two three, dance like me dancebut the grave robber, tomb stalkerTearing scabs and scars open danceThe rub the rhythm raw against our soul dance. We have come to be dancedNot the nice, invisible, self-conscious shuffleBut the matted hair flying, voodoo mamaShaman shakin’ ancient bones danceThe strip us from our casings, return our wingsSharpen our claws and tongues danceThe shed dead cells and slip intoThe luminous skin of love dance. We have come to be dancedNot the hold our breath and wallow in the shallow end of the floor danceBut the meeting of the trinity, the body breath and beat danceThe shout hallelujah from the top of our thighs danceThe mother may I?Yes you may take 10 giant leaps danceThe olly olly oxen free free free danceThe everyone can come to our heaven dance. We have come to be dancedWhere the kingdom’s collideIn the cathedral of fleshTo burn back into the lightTo unravel, to play, to fly, to prayTo root in skin sanctuaryWe have come to be dancedWe have come.by Jewel Mathieson
