I recently met Hruby out at one of our Granite Pass adventures. Her weekly video logs make me laugh out loud.  Enjoy!

This makes perfect sense if you've ever been in the catacombs underneath Paris....

Life: Cracking Walnuts, Making Sun Tea & Tending To The Garden...

I ask again, when did we turn into my Grandparents?!

...and tending to the garden all morning.  I love my life. And I now understand why my grandparents loved there's so much too.

DIY: Upcycled Vintage Button-up Western Shirt

While at theBay Area  Maker Faire last month I ran across a vendor in the Bazaar Bizarre who was making these adorable tops out of vintage mens western shirts. Only problem is that they were priced way out of my budget. I took a closer look and realized if I could get my hands on a shirt I could probably make my own in a couple of hours at a fraction of the price. I actually ended up finding two FREE vintage westerns in the Swap-o-rama-rama (free clothing swap & workshops) section of the Baz Biz. So for two hours of effort I came up with this...
DIY: Upcycled Mens Western Button-up

It's not nearly as cute as the tops being sold at the Maker Faire but as a first attempt I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. When you're working without any instructions or patterns I find that there's always a bit of a learning curve.  Next attempt I'll bring the pockets up higher and try to retain the original hemline.

Farilla snapped this photo because he's convinced that I never iron. Not true.  I just don't buy clothes that require ironing.

If you're noticing a fashion theme here it's because I'm obsessed with strapless tops right now.   I'm dead set against being THAT bridesmaid with the horrible tan lines in TnT's upcoming wedding.

I went to the new Barney's in The Village yesterday. Talk about sensory overload. At least the food and service were good.  I definitely recommend the Greek Stuffed Potato and Veggie Chili!

Fitness: Welcome To Our Yoga Studio

We're about 40 days into the P90X program. I missed 4 days of workouts earlier this week due to travel. To make up for slacking off I bumped up my bicep/shoulder workout by 2lbs. It seemed like a good idea at the time but today I was paying for it. I totally struggled through yoga this AM. My upper extremities were completely fatigued.  Ugh! No fun.

Photos: Tessa's Bachelorette Weekend 6/2010

Last weekend Yeva & I (2/3's of Team Bridesmaid) had the pleasure of  hosting a Bachelorette Weekend for our dear friend, Tessa. Tessa & Tim are soon to be wed in the majesty that is Yosemite National Park. I think it's fair to say that I CANNOT WAIT to be up in Nor Cal celebrating TnT's big day.

Tessa, being the inspirational Goddess that she is, brought together 16 of the most phenomenal women I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Despite the 100+ degree temps in 29 Palms we spent the weekend celebrating love, eating delicious food, dancing, hooping/spinning poi, lounging by the pool, creating (masks for TnT's Masquerade Reception) and, most importantly, bonding. Thank you, Tessa, for bringing us all together. I hope your weekend was everything you had hoped for. A huge thanks to all the Beauties who ventured out to the desert for Tessa's send-off into matrimony.  And a ton of love and gratitude goes out Yeva (aka Mama) for taking such good care of us all.

A glimpse of our weekend is posted below but feel free to enjoy the complete gallery HERE.

Photos: Granite Pass 5/2010

Last weekend Farilla and I ventured back out to the sacred space known as Granite Pass in the Mojave National Preserve.  We spent two nights surrounded by our Soul Cluster celebrating the many wonders of birth, life, death, inner & outer space, bugs & bunnies, cupcakes, baby raves, not-dads, fire, sunrises & sunsets, new & old friendships, Daft Funk, flower blooms, sand dunes, aliens & robots, LOST, the moon, Lemon Drops & Le Playa (not to be confused with The Playa) and good 'ol fashion Love!  Happy Birthweek,  Saddhu!  You wear Life 4.0 so very well!  How lucky are we to be surrounded by such magical beings?!

Below are some of my favorite moments from our weekend but you can check out the full gallery here.
